Meet Summer 2026: our first full intern cohort across AI, computer vision, growth, design, and product engineering, plus the star performers who stood out.
Sep 1, 2026
Summer 2026 marked a milestone for Matrix AE: our first full intern cohort. We opened tracks across AI and automation, computer vision, growth, UI/UX, and specialized product roles, and brought in students and early-career contributors ready to ship on real client and product work, not toy assignments.
The goal was simple. Give people ownership, pair them with delivery mentors, and measure progress the way we measure client work: clarity, reliability, and what actually shipped.
Star interns
Four people stood out for consistency, initiative, and the quality of what they delivered. We want to recognize them by name.
Zara Ali brought sharp execution on AI and automation work, moving quickly from brief to working workflows without losing the judgment needed when systems touch real data.
Ujala Basit Ali pushed computer vision tasks with care: careful labeling assumptions, honest evals, and demos that held up when the lighting and edge cases got messy.
Aliza Yasser strengthened our frontend craft, shipping interfaces that felt intentional and stayed maintainable as requirements shifted mid-sprint.
Eshaal Malik carried full-stack ownership end to end, bridging UI and APIs so features landed as coherent products rather than disconnected tickets.
The full Summer 2026 cohort
Star recognition does not mean the rest of the cohort was quiet. Every track contributed. Here is the full roster as it stands on our team page.
AI and Automation: Ahmed Irfan, Alishba Arshad, Hajra Haseeb, Mirfaq Javaid, Ruhan Kamran, Shamaiem Shabbir, Zara Ali, Zonia Amer, and Hiba Abrar.
Computer Vision: Ujala Basit Ali, Fareha Adnan, and Sheikh Ahmad Ijaz.
Growth Team: Ambreen Tahir and Areej Shaukat.
UI/UX: Amar Shar and Fiza Mohsin.
Specialized roles: Areeba Tahir (Data Analyst), Eshaal Malik (Full Stack), Aliza Yasser (Frontend), and Hiyam Rehan (Game Development).
Together they supported delivery, research spikes, design explorations, and the messy middle of turning ideas into systems teams can run after launch.
What we learned
A first cohort teaches the company as much as the interns. Clear briefs matter. Weekly demos matter. And giving people a real stake in outcomes beats stacking busywork. We will carry those lessons into the next round of openings.
